Dear all,
I hope, as always, that this letter finds you sipping on an Aperol Spritz somewhere and not in front of your computer; and if you are in front of the computer, please take a minute to fix that posture, take a deep breath and tell yourself “nobody is gonna die” if you are close to missing the deadline.
Now, to address the title, I did in fact quit my old job and wait for my new one to start. I am in this magical space-time-continuum where I can stop worrying about alarm clocks, calls and anything remotely connected to Microsoft Office. This is the main reason why I don’t have any new memes for you. The meme business is dependent on a combination of misery and tiredness, and it just doesn’t fit my current state of mind. Rest assured, I will continue in M&A so new content will start soon.
So far I’ve read 5 books in the previous month, slept on average 8-9h per night, worked out almost every day & I am currently writing this from the airport on my way to a 7-day hike through Corsica.
Nonetheless, I must say I do suffer a bit from the Stockholm syndrome and miss work, or better said, I miss the days to have structure & purpose. First weeks of freedom, Dobby (me) did not enjoy it as much as he hoped. I think the idea of Pilates at 10 was more appealing than the execution of Pilates at 10, because let me tell you, in real life you actually have to go there and work out hard, while the idea was idillic and perfect as it was.
Anyway, I thought I’ll give you this little update and hope you will enjoy this article I found in FT titled “is there life after Banking” which was oddly comforting.
Normal programming and outfit ideas will resume soon.
Best,
IB
